Term 3 Reception Class
A new class has started in Room 26 with 18 new Receptions who have mainly come from the local Hackney and Agnes Goode Kindergartens. Room 26 has just arrived from Playford High and we have rapidly made it into a cosy Reception room. The children are enjoying taking on the responsibilities of school life as they undergo the transition from the freedom of Kindergarten. In particular, they like working on the Gymnasium equipment, on the computers in the Computing Room and browsing and borrowing in the Resource Centre. More new Receptions will be arriving in Week 6 of Term 3 2000.

Room 8 - Grandfriends Morning
Room 8 children talking about their activities. The shared morning tea was delicious.

The children in room 8 invited grandfriends and Mrs Hinks and Mrs Berg to their room early in term 3 to showcase a range of daily activities. The activities included morning activity, numeracy fun and the singing of rousing traditional Australian songs. The singing was accompanied by room 8’s teacher, Libby Eaton, on her guitar. The morning finished with a shared morning tea made by the children’s parents. It was a lovely morning, which was enjoyed by everyone.

"Come Out"
During 1999 the Reception classes have been involved in many interesting and exciting activities. They have been on a variety of excursions such as the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, The Festival theatre for a "Come Out" performance and a visit to the Parafield Airport. Some children made a papier mache hot air balloon during art lessons.
